I'm not sure we had mentioned here the developments of the past few months in the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. Metropolitan Hilarion is now the First
Hierarch of ROCOR, and still the ruling bishop of Australia and New Zealand as well as with care of Eastern America. Archimandrite Theodosius (Ivashchenko) was
elected as Vicar Bishop for Seattle. Bishop Gabriel is now Bishop of Montreal and Canada. Bishop John (Berzins) is Bishop of Caracas, Venezuela and South
America. That gives Archbishop Kyrll of San Francisco some much needed help, South America and Canada again have pastors, and there are still the elections to
the episcopate of Fr. George (Schaeffer) and Fr. John R. Shaw (a proponent of Western Rite.) I'm not sure which Episcopal Sees will yet be filled: a Vicar
Bishop for Australia and New Zealand is a good possibility, as is a new Vicar Bishop for Eastern America (Boston? Washington DC? Manhattan?). There might even
be a bishop again in England? There are other possibilities of course - maybe 2/3rds of the historical bishoprics of ROCOR are vacant (from Urmia in Persia, to
a few Chinese sees.)
